RESEARCH INTERESTS

Conducting process-oriented research in bio-optics and developing new methodological approaches for the in situ optical characterization of dissolved and particulate material. Present work focuses on developing techniques for the in situ measurement of detrital absorption, elucidating the processes affecting the distribution of chromophoric and fluorophoric dissolved materials in natural waters, and deriving particle size distributions and particle shape information from the inversion of scattering spectra and phase functions.
