Each water
purification system is designed around Barnstead Nanopure infinity
UV deionization system. Two pre-filters are attached to the inlet
side of the system to allow low-grade input water to be used. The
system is connected to the ships or laboratory water supply through
a standard garden hose.
The IOP package is
based around 2 WET Labs HiStar absorption/beam attenuation meters
hence is referred to as the HiStar package. These HiStars are a new
set of instruments that are designed to be in-situ
spectrophotometers with high spectral resolution previously only
available with laboratory instruments. The HiStars are mounted on a
cage with a SBE-25 CTD and WET Labs MODAPS+. This package comes with
a technician.
